SMU to Host Clemson, NC State, Georgia Tech and Stanford in 2027 ACC Play

CHARLOTTE / DALLAS (SMU) – SMU will host Clemson, NC State, Georgia Tech and Stanford as part of its 2027 ACC football schedule, the conference announced Wednesday, bringing another season of marquee matchups to the Hilltop.
SMU's 2027 road schedule features trips to Cal, Virginia, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Duke. The nine-game conference slate marks the second season of the ACC's new scheduling model.
As the Mustangs head to Louisville this week for a top-25 matchup with No. 23 Louisville, head coach Rhett Lashlee has led SMU to a 15-2 record in ACC play, including an undefeated conference record at Gerald J. Ford Stadium. SMU's 15-2 mark is the best conference record among ACC programs over that span.
The move to a nine-game league schedule was announced on Sept. 22, 2025. The model features nine conference games and a minimum of 10 games each season against Power Four opponents. SMU will open the 2027 season against Oklahoma at AT&T Stadium.
The ACC will announce game dates and the complete 2027 football schedule in late January.Â
