Taylor Heinen was hired as Director of Facility and Event Operations for Armstrong Fieldhouse in 2023. In this role he manages SMU’s Indoor Performance Center working primarily with Football, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, and External Rentals.
Heinen, first arrived at the Hilltop in Fall 2021 serving various positions around campus, including Event Operations Assistant and University Event Manager. He takes over his new position with 10 years of facility and event operations experience.
Before working for the Mustangs, Heinen worked in the private training sector serving as the General Manager for D1 Sports Training for three years. Prior to his role at D1, Heinen worked at the Michael Johnson Performance Center in facility and equipment operations.
Outside of SMU, Heinen has tournament and championship experience including the 2022 Big 12 Football Championship, 2022 Servpro First Responder Bowl, 2022 AAC Men’s Basketball Conference Tournament Championship, and the 2017 AT&T Byron Nelson.
Heinen graduate from Louisiana State University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Sports Studies.
Born and raised in San Jose, CA, he now lives in Dallas with his wife Barbara.
