Josh Stevens is an Associate Athletic Trainer at Southern Methodist University, working with the Mustang Football Team and Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams. A native of Dallas, TX, he has been at SMU since 2006 as a full-time member of the sports medicine staff. During his tenure at SMU, he also has served as the athletic trainer for the University's men’s and women's swimming & diving and women’s track & field programs.
While obtaining his master's in science at the University of Tennessee (2004-2006), Stevens served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer working with the football program. Prior to his graduate work, he assisted the Dallas Cowboys (2002-2004). Stevens received his undergraduate from Southern Methodist University (1997-2002). During his time as an undergraduate at SMU, Stevens was a student athletic trainer for the Mustangs football, basketball and rowing teams.
Stevens is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the South West Athletic Trainers Associations. He is NATA certified and licensed by the State of Texas as an athletic trainer.
Stevens is married to the former Amanda Tabisz of Plano, TX, and they have two sons: Brady and Tucker.
