SMU student-athletes, coaches and staff enjoyed a night of fun and fellowship at SMU's annual "Welcome Back Event" Sunday night at the Main Event Entertainment Center in Plano. The event provided the 400 plus SMU student-athletes a night of food and fun, and an opportunity to bond with teammates as well as meet members of SMU's 17 varsity sports, before the pressures of juggling school and athletic activities build up.

The Mustangs enjoyed the numerous activities, including bowling, arcades, laser tag and billiards, the Main Event Entertainment Center has to offer. It was a chance for each player to interact with old friends from other teams, as well as meet each team's incoming freshmen. It was also an opportunity for all our student-athletes to meet first-year Athletic Director Rick Hart, who also offered words of encouragement to the student-athletes.

The men's and women's soccer teams and the volleyball team have already started their fall seasons, while the football team opens at Baylor on Sept. 2 at 5:30 p.m. For more information on all SMU teams, or to purchase tickets, visit www.SMUMustangs.com.
