DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Director of Athletics Steve Orsini today announced promotions of several staff members as he continues to streamline department operations.

Tim Leonard's title has been changed from Senior Associate A.D./Development to Senior Associate A.D./External Affairs. Leonard will be responsible for all revenue generation for Athletics, with oversight of fundraising, ticket sales and sponsorships. Kristopher Lowe has been named to Associate A.D./Business and will serve as the department's Chief Financial Officer, overseeing budget management and contract negotiations, as well as serving as sport administrator for men's basketball. Brad Sutton has been promoted to Associate A.D./Public Relations & Marketing and will continue to coordinate public relations, marketing, licensing, communications and broadcasting for the department and will oversee the cross country, track & field and golf programs.

World-renown track coach Dave Wollman has added additional responsibilities to his role and has been named Assistant A.D./University Liaison. Wollman, who will remain at the helm of SMU's track & field and cross country programs, will oversee the new Office of Student-Athlete Development and will also labor to maintain the Athletics Department's strong ties to the university as a whole. He will serve as the liaison between Athletics and the Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center, Admissions, Financial Aid and Housing among other departments.

Kris Harris has also been promoted to Assistant A.D./Facilities & Operations. He will continue his work under Tom Buning, SMU's Senior Associate A.D./Facilities & Operations, but will also serve as a sport supervisor, overseeing tennis and equestrian. Russell Coe has been promoted to Director of Turf Management, replacing Harris.

"These promotions will allow us to be more efficient as a department," Orsini said. "Kristopher and Brad have proven their abilities with the responsibilities entrusted to them and have earned their promotions to Associate Directors of Athletics. We also wanted to reward Dave and Kris for their growth within our department. They will fill important roles for us and will be valuable additions to our administration."
