DALLAS (SMU) - SMU announced today that it has selected Legends Sales & Marketing (LSM), to handle the University's ticket and premium sales operations for its football and basketball programs. LSM will be responsible for selling season, partial and group tickets at Gerald J. Ford Stadium and Moody Coliseum.

"We are excited to partner with LSM, a company founded by the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees," said SMU Director of Athletics Steve Orsini. "SMU provides very affordable, family-oriented, nationally-competitive college athletics events right here in the center of Dallas and working with a company like LSM will only help us as we promote our product and grow our presence in the Metroplex."

"This is a wonderful new relationship for us in a marketplace that we have already had significant success in," said Chad Estis, President, Legends Sales & Marketing. "We are excited to insert our proven sales and marketing approach at SMU and think that with the combination of the school's upcoming move to the BIG EAST and its facility upgrades there is a tremendous opportunity for sales growth and a lot Mustang fans have to look forward to."

SMU, who is currently a member of Conference USA, will become a member of the BIG EAST Conference in 2013. The Mustang football team, whose 2012 home schedule includes games against Texas A&M and TCU, has competed in three consecutive bowl games. The Mustangs' basketball arena, Moody Coliseum, is currently undergoing a $40-plus million renovation which includes the addition of luxury suites, loge boxes and retractable courtside seating.

Chris Terwoord, General Manager of Sales, will lead the LSM team at SMU. Terwoord comes to the project from the New Jersey Devils, where he previously worked as the Director of Ticket Sales and Service. Prior to that, he also worked for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Blackhawks.

Legends Sales & Marketing, who will be adding up to six new sales positions for the project, has proven experience in selling ticket inventory for sports venues, and currently manages ticket sales for the San Francisco 49ers new stadium, the Rose Bowl, the New York Red Bulls' Red Bull Arena and Circuit of The Americas (Formula 1 Grand Prix) in Austin, Texas, along with a number of other world-class venues.
