2011 SMU Donor and Ticket Guide

Mustang Athletics is embarking on a new endeavor to continue the excitement at Ford Stadium.
With the ever-changing landscape in collegiate athletics, we are striving to reach a season ticket record and enhance our profile for the 2011 season. There is a buzz around our institution, the Dallas-Fort Worth region and our national alumni base about our SMU Mustangs. Our season ticket and group plans truly have something to offer any Mustang fan.
Season tickets are a perfect way to guarantee your seat for all the home action of the 2011 season, entertain clients, reward employees or spend quality time with friends and loved ones. Ford Stadium has a comfortable and fun atmosphere. It is the best entertainment value in the Dallas sports market. Whether you are in Dallas or live out of state, you have an opportunity to be involved through the purchase of season tickets.
Loyal fans will also earn and accumulate priority points for their support. In future seasons, these points will be used to determine selection for:
New season tickets
Seat relocation requests
Premium seating waiting list requests
Reserved parking
Boulevard tailgate spaces
Away game ticket requests
Conference USA Championship tickets
Bowl game tickets
Together, the priority seating plan and the priority points system provide equity and fairness for
SMU's loyal Mustang fans.
PRIORITY SEATING
![]() |
The Mustang priority seating plan will help provide much-needed support for all athletic programs as we pursue our goal of competing at the highest level of college athletics and becoming a Top 25 program in all sports.
To purchase seats in a priority section, you must make an annual gift to the Mustang Club at the corresponding level. Mustang Club donors may purchase as many season tickets as they wish. You may be required to increase your annual donation for additional seats.
Examples
1. John is a donor to the Mustang Club and wants to renew his season tickets for the 2011 season. He has four seats in section 104. He makes a Peruna-level donation of $1,000 to retain his seats. John is also eligible to purchase a parking pass on either the Boulevard or in the Westcott or Church lots. For his donation and season ticket purchase, he receives priority points, which will help determine the order for seat selection for the 2012 season.
2. Debbi and Mike are not donors to the Mustang Club and would like to purchase 6 season tickets in the Stadium Club. To do so, they make a $5,000 gift at the Stallion level. They are eligible to purchase a parking pass in the Meadows Garage but opt instead to purchase a pass in the Westcott lot.

PRIORITY POINTS SYSTEM

Points are awarded for gifts to the Mustang Club in the current donation year, June 1-May 31:
2 points per $100 given to the Mustang Club
5 points per year of giving to the Mustang Club
25 points for each 5 years of consecutive giving to the Mustang Club

LIFETIME UNIVERSITY GIVING
Donors who have reached a cumulative University lifetime giving level of $100,000 are eligible to receive 100 priority points. To be eligible for priority seating, a patron must be a current donor to the Mustang Club and donate at the established levels for the seating section.
* Donations to SMU Athletics include gifts to the Mustang Club, approved capital projects, Circle of Champions, Cash Birdwell Endowment Fund, "Friends of" accounts and other approved fundraising initiatives since 1991.
** Sports for which season tickets are sold
To realize the benefits of any points under this system, an individual must be an active donor to the Mustang Club in the current year. An active donor is an individual or business making a donation in the current year. Priority points are calculated on May 1 each year to allocate seating and parking requests for the upcoming season. Points are based on paid donations, not pledges.
EXAMPLE
John just joined the Letterman's Association for the first time and wants to be put on the waiting list to upgrade both his parking and seating. He and his wife, Pam, have given to the Mustang Club at the Peruna level ($1,000) for seven consecutive years. They have purchased two season football tickets and two season men's basketball tickets for the last six years. John and Pam have also given $1,000 each year for the last 10 years to the Friends of Men's Tennis and made a capital gift of $25,000 to the Ford Stadium campaign. John and Pam have the following priority points, which are used to determine their ranking on the seating/parking upgrade list.

ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS
![]() |
Will I be able to keep my seats with the new priority seating plan?
Yes. The priority seating plan is a modification of the original plan created when Ford Stadium opened in 2000. If you maintain the minimum required annual Mustang Club contribution, then you can renew your season tickets at your 2009 season location.
Is there a limit on the number of season tickets I can purchase?
No. You can purchase as many season tickets as you want. But in priority sections, the required Mustang Club donation is based on a quantity of four. If you wish to purchase more than four seats in a priority area, you may be required to increase your Mustang Club contribution depending on the location and the level of your gift.
Does contributing to the Mustang Club at a certain donor level guarantee seats in a particular section?
No. While every effort will be made to ensure that you can purchase seats in the section that corresponds with your Mustang Club donor level, if demand exceeds supply, then you will be eligible to select seats in the nearest available section in the next lower donor section.
If I increase my annual gift to the Mustang Club, will my seats be upgraded?
Depending on the request and availability, yes. Priority points will be used to determine the order of upgrade requests. Once it is your turn to upgrade your season tickets, you can select available seats in corresponding sections. You can track your points and know where you stand each season in order of priority seat selection.
Do I have to contribute to the Mustang Club to purchase season tickets?
No. Over two-thirds of the seats in Ford Stadium are in non-priority sections and do not require a gift to the Mustang Club. If you wish to purchase season tickets in a priority section then you must make an unrestricted annual gift to the Mustang Club. Gifts to all other athletic designations will accumulate points for your priority points total.
Is there a limit on the number of parking passes I can purchase?
Yes. Donors to the Mustang Club can purchase up to two parking passes in the lots corresponding to their donation level. If there are more requests for parking passes than spaces available, then Priority points will be used to determine the order in which parking passes are granted.
