INDIANAPOLIS (SMU/NCAA) - The 19th-ranked SMU cross country team has been selected to race in the 2008 Division I Cross Country Championships, the NCAA announced today.

The Championships will be held on Nov. 24 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course located at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Ind. The race will begin at approximately 11 a.m. Central time and will be broadcast live on CBS College Sports Network and streamed online via NCAA.com.

The Mustangs will enter the race as the 2008 Conference USA Champions and boast seven All-Conference runners including the 2006 and 2007 South Central Regional Female Athletes of the Year - senior Rachael Forish and sophomore Silje Fjortoft.

The following 31 teams were selected to the Championships: Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Georgetown, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Northern Arizona , Notre Dame, Oregon, Princeton, Providence, Rice, SMU, Stanford, Stony Brook, Syracuse, Texas Tech, Villanova, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
