DALLAS (USTFCCCA/SMU) – The SMU cross country squad added another honor to this season’s accomplishments, earning the All-Academic Team award from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Through the fall, the team combined for a 3.56 cumulative GPA.

A total of 205 institutions represent 30 conferences that compose this year’s group. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.

Last week, recent graduate Silje Fjortoft was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team for earning a 3.856 cumulative GPA.
