Cristine Dixon is in her 15th season (2014) on the Hilltop, and her 11th as the top assistant coach under head coach Lisa Seifert. In the summer of 2011, she was promoted to Associate Head Coach.

Dixon, a former Texas Tech standout, serves as SMU's recruiting coordinator. The 2008 freshmen were rated 46th in the nation by PrepVolleyball.com, the highest rated class in SMU history. She also assists in developing outside hitters and coordinates the SMU Summer Volleyball Camps and special events.

"Cristine has done a tremendous job," said SMU head coach Lisa Seifert. "She has played a significant role in securing some of the best talent in the country."

As evidence, the 2008 incoming class is the highest ranked class in program history, earning a tie for 46th according to PrepVolleyball.com.

Dixon, who was named to the Texas Tech All-Millennium Team in 1999, started at Tech each of her four years (1994-97) and is still ranked in several school records, including service aces, digs and kills. She is reunited with Seifert, under who she played for two years in Lubbock while Seifert was an assistant coach.

Prior to SMU, Dixon earned District 12-AAA Coach of the Year honors as she led Forney High School to its first playoff appearance in 1999. In addition to coaching, she was also an English teacher.

Over her playing career, Dixon averaged 2.99 digs per game (1,323 digs in 443 games), recorded 165 service aces and hit .196 with 1,046 kills and 422 errors in 3,181 total attempts.

A native of Los Angeles, Calif., Dixon received her B.S. in Exercise & Sports Science from Texas Tech in 1997 and a Masters of Liberal Arts from SMU in 2004. The former Cristine Martin was married to Kyle Dixon in 2002. The couple has two daughters, Teagan and Toryn.
