NEW ORLEANS (USTFCCC/SMU) - SMU's women's cross country team received All-Academic honors from the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the group announced Thursday. Mary Alenbratt and Helena Perez also received individual awards.

A school qualifies for team honors by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. An individual must have a minimum 3.25 GPA.As a team, SMU posted a cumulative average GPA of 3.37.

These awards add to the academic achievement earned by former thrower Ayla Gill, who earned a spot on the Conference USA All-Academic squad.
