Three Mustangs Earn All-America Recognition

NEW ORLEANS (SMU) - The USTFCCCA announced its 2013 Outdoor All-Americans, and three Mustangs have been included on the list. Lucija Cvitanovic and Elizabeth Murphy made the Second Team, while Stephanie Kalu took honorable mention recognition.

Cvitanovic placed 14th in javelin at the NCAA Championships. The heptathlon competitor posted SMU's third-best all-time javelin distance at the NCAA Preliminaries, recording a 50.73 meter mark.

Murphy took 15th in the NCAA Finals and has SMU's third-best hammer throw mark, recording 62.32 meters at the NCAA Prelims.

Both Cvitanovic and Murphy won their respective events at the Conference USA Championships.

Kalu finished 22nd in the 100-meter dash at the NCAA Finals, improving her time from the NCAA Prelims by .12 seconds. Kalu set the 100-meter record at SMU earlier in the season, earning a 11.38 mark.
