LUBBOCK (SMU) - The SMU track & field team had a strong showing at the Wes Kittley Classic on Saturday, Jan. 29, with a pair of Ponies claiming individual wins.
In the women’s high jump, SMU’s Gaelle Niare took first, clearing 1.92m. The leap is a provisional mark for the NCAA Championships.
Senior Karin van Rooyen added to her SMU legacy winning the women’s 3,000m in 9:52.26.
Staci Jackson was also a winner in her event, but due to a timing error by meet management, no offical time was recorded.
Up next for SMU is the Tyson Invitational, Feb. 10-12 in Fayetteville, Ark.
