SMU Heptathletes Compete On Day One Of Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas (SMU) – Sophomore Lucija Cvitanovic and senior Lisa Egarter are the lone competitors this week for SMU at the Texas Relays. The Mustang heptathletes currently stand 13th and 22nd, respectively, following the first day of competition on Wednesday. The 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash were completed on day one, while the long jump, javelin and 800-meter run are on the slate for tomorrow.
Cvitanovic took sixth in the shot put (11.89m, 654 pts.), tied for ninth in the long jump (1.66m, 806 pts.), 15th in the 100-meter hurdles (14.71 seconds, 880 pts.) and finished 21st in the 200-meter dash (26.67 seconds, 740 pts.).
In addition, Egarter was 12th in the shot put (11.02 meters, 596 pts.), 17th in the high jump (1.57 meters, 701pts.), 22nd in the 100-meter hurdles (15.30 seconds, 802 pts.) and 23rd in the 200-meter dash (27.13 seconds, 701 pts.).
Cvitanovic and Egarter are back in action on Thursday for day two of the Texas Relays and the final three events of the heptathlon.
