BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (SMU) - After coming up just short at last year's Conference USA Indoor Championships, this year's distance medley team composed of Mary Alenbratt, Lakeisha James, Kajsa Barr and Kristine Eikrem-Engeset set a new Conference USA Indoor Championships record with a time of 11:32.36, breaking Tulsa's 2010 mark by nearly five seconds.

The record-time also topped the school record by over five seconds, which was set at last season's conference indoor championships, by Alenbratt, Egheosa Osawemwenze, Lovisa Lindh and Silje Fjortoft.

In the weight throw, senior Ayla Gill took third place with a toss of 18.03m.

In the 400 meters, freshman Craishia Washington qualified for tomorrow's final with a season-best mark of 55.70.

The 2012 Conference USA Indoor Championships continue tomorrow at noon. Live results can be viewed at http://flashresultstexas.com/2012/cusaindoor12/.
