FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (SMU) - In a strong field that included seven teams ranked in the top 25, and three inside the top 10, SMU came away with six top 10 finishes, at the Razorback Invitational this weekend.
The Mustangs top finishes of the two-day meet came from Lisa Egarter in the high jump and Ayla Gill in the weight throw as both finished fifth in their respective events. Egarter bested her mark of 1.70m last week with a jump of 1.73m, while Gill had a toss of 17.73m.
After winning the 3000 meters at the Texas Tech Invitational a week ago, junior Kristine Eikrem-Engeset set the school record in the mile run with a time of 4:47.56, 0.14 seconds faster than the mark set last season by teammate Mary Alenbratt.
In the 4x400 relay, Amber Evans, Craishia Washington, Isis Wilson and Lakeisha James recorded the second fastest mark in school history with a time of 3:46.26, shaving more than six seconds off of their time from the Texas Tech Invitational, which was the fourth best time at SMU.
The Mustangs will head back to Lubbock, Texas next weekend for the Red Raider Open on Feb. 4.
