NASHVILLE, Tenn. (SMU) - Junior thrower Rayann Chin led the Mustang throwers with a fifth place finish in the weight throw with a mark of 18.61m as the SMU indoor track and field team competed on day one of the Vanderbilt Indoor Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. SMU had six individual top 10 finishes on day one.

In addition to Chin, senior Helena Perez placed 10th with a mark of 16.19m in the weight throw.

In the field events, sophomore Lucija Cvitanovic and senior Lisa Egarter each placed in the top 10 in the high jump as they placed fifth (1.69m) and 10th (1.64m).

Freshman Agnes Sjöström and sophomore Shanoah Souza paced the Mustang distance runners as they captured sixth (17:15.23) and eighth (17:21.48) place in the 5000-meter run.

SMU is back in action on Saturday to compete on day two of the Vanderbilt Indoor Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt.
