Eikrem-Engeset Takes 3000-Meter Title At Texas Tech Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas (SMU) -- The Mustang track and field team notched eight top-five performances at the Texas Tech Invitational this weekend. SMU was led by the 3000 meter trio of Kristine Eikrem-Engeset, Monika Korra and Kajsa Barr who finished first, second and fourth respectively.

Senior Ayla Gill placed second in the weight throw with toss of 18.34 meters. Sophomore Lisa Egarter earned the Mustangs another second-place finish in the high jump after clearing 1.70 meters.   

In the shot put, sophomore Helena Perez finished third with a throw of 14.81 meters.

In her first meet as a Mustang, Craishia Washington recorded the fourth fastest indoor time at SMU in the 200 meters (24.99).

The Mustangs compete next weekend at the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., on Jan. 27-28.
