COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) – Sophomore Melanie Stemper and senior Caitlin Keen finished third (17:18.36) and fourth (17:33.79), respectively, in the 5000-meter run as SMU opened the 2014 indoor track and field season on day one of the Texas A&M Invitational. Stemper and Keen each set personal records with the times they posted.

“I am really proud of the job Melanie and Caitlin did today,” Director of Track & Field Dave Wollman said. “Setting a personal record in the first race of the season is very good sign of things to come.”

In addition to Stemper and Keen, sophomore Claire Trotter competed and placed seventh in the 5000-meter run with a time of 19:09.33.

The group of senior Isis Wilson, sophomores Shanoah Souza and Holly Archer and freshmen Agnes Sjöström finished fourth in the women’s distance medley as they crossed the finish line in a time of 12:03.54.
