SMU will look to snap its current losing skid on Saturday before hosting its second American Athletic Conference match of the season when Temple comes to Dallas on Thursday, March 6 at 4 p.m. That will also be played at the Northwood Country Club in Dallas.

Strength of Schedule:
SMU will play nine total teams that are ranked in the ITA. The Mustangs have also already played matches against No. 18 Texas Tech, No. 60 LSU, No. 26 Tulsa and No. 31 Memphis. Next for SMU is in two weeks when the Mustangs travel to Florida to take on No. 65 USF on March 12. That match is a part of a three match road trip for the Mustangs as they compete in three matches in three days beginning with Penn State on March 11 in Tampa and capping the trip off at AAC foe UCF on March 13 in Orlando.

The Week That Was:
SMU competed once last week in its fifth match this season against a ranked opponent. The Mustangs fell to No. 41 TCU in a close match, 4-3. Freshman Anna Kate Anderson led the Ponies as she notched her second straight win in the No. 6 singles position as she defeated TCU senior Tatum Nowlin in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4 improving her overall record to 8-10 this season.

Scouting the Bearkats:
Sam Houston State is 3-1 this season and has defeated Tarleton State (5-2), Oral Roberts (5-2) and North Central Texas (7-0). The Bearkats are led by senior Kayla Stevenson and freshman Isabella Costa who have each posted solid 3-1 marks this spring.

Now sophomores Hristina Dishkova and Yana Erkeeva won at the No. 3 (6-1, 6-1) and No. 4 (6-4, 6-1) singles matches in that match.

Scouting the Miners:
UTEP is 5-6 this season and has posted a 4-1 record at home but just a 1-2 mark on the road this spring. The Miners are led by junior Davina Meza and senior Rebeca Calvillo who have each posted 14-9 and 13-9 overall marks this season respectively.
