DALLAS (SMU) --- The SMU women's tennis team won the doubles point and the top five singles matches en route to a 6-1 win against Air Force (4-2) on Sunday. No. 93 Edyta Cieplucha and No. 118 Aleksandra Malyarchikova win in straight sets as the Mustangs improved to 3-3 on the season.

"Our targets and execution was very good in doubles today," said head coach Kati Gyulai. "Air Force plays with a lot of energy and we matched that. We are looking to make a few adjustments in singles as we get deeper in the season."

The Mustangs started with the doubles point by winning 8-6 at No. 1 with Vaszilisza Bulgakova and Malyarchikova and 8-3 at No. 3 with Hristina Dishkova and Holly Verner.

In singles, SMU started with two impressive wins. No. 93 Cieplucha won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles in her first match after moving into the top-125. At the second singles position, No. 118 Malyarchikova swept easily in a 6-1, 6-1 decision. SMU also won points with Bulgakova at No.3, Dishkova at No. 4 and Yana Erkeeva at No. 5.

The Mustangs visit Sam Houston State on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
