URBANA, Ill. (SMU) - The No. 36 SMU women's tennis team dropped its season-opener 6-1 at No. 63 Illinois (5-1) on Friday. Edyta Cieplucha record the Mustangs' win at No. 1 singles in the match held at the Atkins Tennis Center. Cieplucha improved to 7-3 on the year with a 5-7, 7-5, 10-7 win versus Illinois' Marisa Lambropoulos. SMU (0-1) plays at DePaul on Saturday at 6 p.m.
