Rangelova Finishes Eighth In 100-Meter Freestyle At European Championships

BERLIN (SMU) - Recently graduated SMU swimmer Nina Rangelova finished eighth in the 100-meter freestyle final at the European Swimming Championships on Wednesday by clocking a 55.46.

Rangelova, who is representing her home country of Bulgaria, swam a Bulgarian National Record of 55.07 in the preliminary round on Wednesday to advance to semifinals, and qualified for the finals with a 55.13 in Wednesday evening's semis.

She continues competition with 200-meter freestyle prelims and semis on Friday evening, with the finals set for Saturday night, and the 50-meter freestyle that begins on Saturday with Sunday evening finals.
