DALLAS (SMU) - SMU women's swimming and diving Head Coach Steve Collins has announced the 2014-15 schedule.

The Mustangs, who placed 20th at the 2014 NCAA Championship, will kick off the season with their annual Red and Blue Intra-Squad meet held at the AR Barr Outdoor Pool on SMU's campus Sept. 19. Their first action with an outside opponent places the Ponies at the North Texas Relays on Sept. 26, where Arkansas, American Athletic Conference-opponent Houston and North Texas will also compete.

SMU's Classic is up next Oct. 17 and 18, and features some of the top competition in the country. Last season's American champion Louisville is part of the field, as well as LSU, Miami, NC State and USC. USC finished first at the 2013 Classic, while Louisville was third and Miami was sixth. In all, eight records were broken at the 2013 edition of the Classic, and this year's field will look for the same success at Westside Natatorium.

The Mustangs next travel to the Mansfield Natatorium to face Rice (Oct. 31) and, for the second time in the young season, Houston (Nov. 1).

The highly competitive Texas A&M Invite is set for Nov. 20-22 in College Station, and the Mustang divers will have a chance to close out the year at USA Diving National held in Columbus, Ohio, Dec. 16-21.

2015 beings with the return of LSU, as SMU hosts the Tigers in dual action on Jan. 3 at the Rockwall Aquatic Center. LSU finished 36th overall at the NCAA Championship, and seventh at the SEC Swimming and Diving Championship. Jan. 3-5 also features the Tennessee Diving Invite in Knoxville.

The Mustangs head back to College Station on Jan. 8. This time a tri-meet with Texas A&M and Tennessee. The Aggies finished fourth at the 2014 NCAA meet, while the Lady Vols finished seventh.

SMU is slated to face 2014's eighth and ninth place teams in Arizona and Texas, respectively, Jan. 30-31 in Austin. The Longhorns were crowned champions of the Big 12 for the second-straight time a season ago, while Arizona placed fifth in the Pac-12.

The Mustangs travel to North Texas, a team they defeated last season, on Feb. 6 and a pre-conference time trial exhibition event will be held at the Southlake Natatorium on Feb. 7 featuring UNT as well as Oklahoma Baptist.

American Athletic Conference Championship swimming and diving takes place in Greensboro, North Carolina, this season Feb. 18-21. The Mustangs posted a runner-up finish at the inaugural event last season, and is one of two conference teams to have placed at the 2014 NCAA event. Houston garnered three points at the Championship for 49th place.

Continuing championship season, NCAA Zone Diving Qualification takes place March 9-11 in Iowa City, and the 2015 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship is set for March 19-21 in a familiar Greensboro Aquatics Center.

Select Mustangs will also travel to Arena Grand Prix Series events throughout the season in Austin (Jan. 16-18) and Mesa (April 23-25).

Four All-America selections and seven all-conference selections return for the 2014-15 season, including seniors Isabella Arcila, Nathalie Lindborg and Rachel Nicol and freshmen Ursa Bezan, Marne Erasmus, Tara-Lynn Nicholas and Kirsty McLauchlan.
