Swimmers Jump Into Summer Competitions

DALLAS (SMU) - Several current and former SMU swimmers and divers are preparing for summer International competition, which starts this weekend with the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy. Swimming in the meet are Angela San Juan Cisneros (Spain), Maroua Mathlouthi (Tunisia), Anja Carman (Slovenia) and Miroslava Najdanovski (Serbia). Results from the meet can be found here.

Next week, the 2009 World University Games will begin in Belgrade, Serbia, with Raminta Dvariskyte (Lithuania), Audra Egenolf (USA), Petra Klosova (Czech Republic), Christy-Leigh Lategan (South Africa), Denisa Smolenova (Slovakia), Elzanne Werth (South Africa) and Miroslava Najdanovski (Serbia) all set to swim. Stateside, the U.S. National Championships are set for July 7-11, with Martina Moravcova, Devon Callaghan and Gabriela Soza set to compete. Results will be available here.

Finally, the 2009 World Championships are set for Rome, July 17-Aug. 2, with Raminta Dvariskyte (Lithuania), Petra Klosova (Czech Republic), Sascha Van den Branden (Belgium), Martina Moravcova (Slovakia), Anja Carman (Slovenia), Sara Nordenstam (Norway) and Miroslava Najdanovski (Serbia) scheduled to compete.
