Women's Swimmers Compete at World Championship Trials

INDIANAPOLIS (SMU) - Head women?s swim coach Steve Collins led Roxane Akradi, Candace and Jennifer Blackman, Leane Darling and Katie Roberts to the 2005 World Championship Trials in Indianapolis, Ind., Apr. 1-6. Two of these individuals competed in consolation finals during the event in the 50, 100 and 200 free. In the 50 free, Candace Blackman (26.54) and Darling (26.65) swam in the ?C? final, finishing 23rd and 24th respectively. Darling also swam in the 100 free, touching the wall in 57.01, good for 20th overall. Candace Blackman then won the ?C? final of the 200 free (2:02.09) and took 17th overall.
