DALLAS (SMU) - Sophomore student-athlete Elizabeth Krane is set to spend her spring break with a group from SMU in New Orleans rebuilding distressed homes that will be sold to teachers.

As part of Youth Rebuilding New Orleans, the swimmer from St. Louis, Mo., will help the organization that focuses on the recovery and rebirth of the New Orleans area. The homes that Krane will help rebuild have been distressed and foreclosed, and the end goal is to "stabilize neighborhoods and positively impact the education system".

During the group's visit, they will be staying at the Aurora United Methodist Church, which houses volunteers whose efforts span various projects. It also helps connect volunteers with projects across New Orleans.
