2010-11 (Fr.): Competed in the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard individual medley, 400-yard individual medley and 200-yard medley relay.

Prior to SMU: Captained her high school team in 2010 and was named team MVP... Placed second in the 200 medley relay, third in the 100 breast, fourth in the 500 free and fourth in the 400 free relay at state in 2010... Swam club for the Dallas Mustangs... Named to the TAPPS All-State Team and TAPPS All-State Academic Team in 2008 and 2009... Was a member of the National Honor Society, Dean's List and Honor Roll.

Personal: Anticipated psychology major... Chose SMU for the academics and swim team... Enjoys fasion, writing, music, exercising, and spending time with friends and family... Lists Miles Austin as her favorite athlete... Parents are Jay and Janna Newman... Has one brother.
