Martina Moravcova returns to the Hilltop beginning her eighth year as volunteer assistant coach.

The 1999 NCAA Swimmer of the Year, Moravcova dominated while at SMU, winning 10 individual NCAA titles during her Mustang career, the second-best total in NCAA history. Overall, Moravcova won 14 NCAA titles as a Mustang, including four straight 200 free titles, becoming the first swimmer since Stanford's Jenny Thompson to win the same event four times in a row. Moravcova ended her SMU career a 25-time All-American, gaining 26 conference titles. Moravcova also broke 16 European records during her time as a Mustang.

In 2000, Moravcova won silver medals in the 200 free and 100 fly at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, as a member of the Slovakian National team. With her two medals, Moravcova became the first female swimmer from Slovakia to ever win a medal at the Olympics. In the 2004 Summer Olympics as a member of the Slovakian Olympic team guided by Steve Collins, she finished sixth in the 100 fly and seventh in the 100 free. Moravcova has participated in four Olympic games.

Moravcova continues to dominate in competitive swimming at the international level. In 2004, Moravcova competed in the World Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she earned a gold medal in the 200 free and a bronze medal in the 100 fly. Moravcova currently holds European records in one event (100 IM) and has collected 22 World Championship medals (seven titles) and 43 European Championship medals (22 golds). In her career she has broken a world record five times.
