ORLANDO, Fla. (SMU) - Three Mustangs received all-league honors at the American Athletic Conference awards banquet in Orlando, Fla., on Thursday. Shelby Redman and Rikki Clarke were named second team all-conference, while Taylor Barg landed on the all-rookie team.

Redman led SMU with eight goals and 19 points this season, tying for 10th in the league in goals and tied for 11th in points. The junior scored game-winning goals against both TCU on Sept. 12 and Cincinnati on Oct. 6. After tallying three goals in the first two games of the season, Redman received league honor roll recognition on Aug. 26. Redman now has 19 goals in her collegiate career, tying her for 17th all-time at SMU. The forward from Austin, Texas, is currently ranked as the seventh-best player in the league by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Redman also excelled in the classroom, receiving second team academic all-district honors on Oct. 31. This award marks the second straight year that Redman has earned second team all-league honors, as she was Second Team All-Conference USA a year ago.

Clarke joins Redman on the second team, also for her second consecutive year. The junior midfielder tallied nine points with two goals and five assists this season, ranking third on the team in helpers. Clarke scored SMU's first goal of the season at home against ULM on Aug. 23, pacing the Mustangs to a 6-1 victory. Clarke added a goal in SMU's 3-0 win over Temple in the first round of the conference tournament on Friday. The native of Keller, Texas, is currently ranked as the 14th-best player in the conference by TopDrawerSoccer.com.

Barg ranked third on the team in points with 14, recording four goals and six assists. The six assists are second-most on the team and tie her for eighth in the conference, and also tie her for 12th among all NCAA freshmen. Barg scored two game-winners this season, including an 89th-minute marker that gave the Mustangs a 2-1 victory over Houston on Oct. 18. Her heroics against Houston earned her a spot on the league's honor roll on Oct. 21.
