IRVING, Texas (SMU) - SMU Mustangs senior Mallory Baum has had a memorable senior season, and the Conference USA added another honor to Baum's growing list on Wednesday. The Keller, Texas, native was named to the C-USA All-Academic First Team, the league office announced.

Baum, an electrical engineering major with a 3.61 GPA, was named First Team All-C-USA on Tuesday. The senior's stellar season was also honored earlier in the year with a nomination for the Senior CLASS Award in September. Baum has 10 points (2g, 6a) in 2012, and is tied for seventh in the C-USA in assists. One of Baum's goals was a penalty kick game-winner against UTEP on Sept. 28.

Baum's selection marks the third consecutive year that SMU has had a player on the C-USA All-Academic First Team.

SMU takes on Rice in the first round of the C-USA Tournament hosted by UTEP this afternoon at 5:30 p.m. CT.
