SMU ALL-TIME VS. SOUTHERN MISS
The Mustangs are 5-1 all-time against Southern Miss, and have not lost to the Golden Eagles since 2007. SMU is 2-0 all-time in Hattiesburg. The Mustangs have outscored Southern Miss 16-4 in the six total meetings between the schools. Last season, SMU earned a 3-1 home victory. Mallory Baum scored and added an assist in the win. In all, four current Mustangs have tallied points against the Golden Eagles: Baum (1 g, 1a), Kenzie Scovill (2g), Ryanne Lewis (1g) and Shelby Hartweck (1a).

SMU Bolts Past Southern Miss, 3-1
DALLAS (SMU) - Following a big win Friday night over No. 19 UCF, the SMU women's soccer team produced a convincing 3-1 victory over Southern Miss this afternoon at Westcott Field. The win keeps the Mustangs atop Conference USA after the first weekend of play.


ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Southern Miss is 3-6-1 (0-3-0 C-USA) on the season. The Golden Eagles have lost three in a row, and five of their last six overall. Southern Miss lost a tight one to Rice on Sunday, losing 1-0 after allowing a goal in the first half.

NOTES FROM THE WEEKEND
• SMU scored three times on penalty kicks in its two games this weekend.
• Freshman goalkeeper Shannon Moroney made back-to-back starts for the first time in her young career. She also recorded her first shutout in Friday's 3-0 win over UTEP.
Shelby Redman had one goal and two assists over the weekend, and now has 17 points on the season, which leads the Mustangs.
Courtney Smith tallied her eighth assist of the season, which leads the C-USA and puts her 3rd in the nation.

SMITH LENDS A HELPING HAND..... OR FOOT
Junior defender Courtney Smith has been a huge part of SMU's offensive gameplan, even though she hasn't scored a goal in 2012. Smith currently leads the C-USA in total assists with 8. She is also ranked 3rd in the nation in total assists, and is 8th in assists per game.

WINNING AT WESTCOTT
SMU currently boasts a 4-0-1 record at home this season, and has outscored its opponents by a margin of 13-3. Dating back to the beginning of 2011, SMU is 11-2-1 in Dallas.

HIGH-OCTANE OFFENSE FROM THE HILLTOP
Two SMU players have scored six or more goals in a season for the first time since the 2006 season. Both Shelby Redman and Kenzie Scovill have scored six this season, with seven regular season games remaining. The Mustangs are averaging nearly two goals per game, putting them fourth in the C-USA.

SPREADING THE LOVE
During SMU's first four Conference USA games, the Mustangs have scored a total of nine goals. Those goals have come from six different players. SMU is also moving the ball well, tallying eight assists during those games.
