Dallas (SMU) – The SMU women’s soccer team had three players receive preseason all-conference recognition from CollegeSportsMadness.com, the website announced Thursday.  Taylor Barg earned first team recognition, while Rikki Clarke and Shelby Redman were named to the second team.

Barg, a sophomore, was third on the team in points last year with 14.  She scored game-winning goals against Sam Houston State and Houston.  As a freshman, Barg was named to the American Athletic Conference’s All-Rookie Team.

Clarke, a senior, recorded two goals and five assists a year ago.  Her five assists ranked third on the team and 12th in the conference.  She received Second Team All-AAC honors.

Redman, a senior, led the Mustangs in scoring last season with eight goals.  The Austin, Texas, native is tied for 17th on SMU’s all-time scoring list with 19 career goals.  Redman was named Second Team All-AAC a season ago.
