DALLAS (SMU) – SMU has announced the addition of Paige Jacobs to its roster for the 2014 season. Jacobs, who played her freshman season last year at Oklahoma, will be eligible to play immediately.
The sophomore midfielder started 17 games and logged 1,351 minutes in 2013, and was named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team at the utility position. Jacobs totaled 15 shots with six on goal.
“We're excited that Paige has enrolled at SMU,” SMU head coach Chris Petrucelli said. “She's a quality player who has already proven she can play on the collegiate level. We expect her to help our team immediately.”
The Coppell, Texas, native was a four-year letterwinner at Coppell High School, where she earned first team All-District honors three times and served as team captain her senior year. She also played club soccer for the Dallas Texans, and was selected to the ECNL All-Event team in Phoenix in 2012. Overall, she was the No. 28 ranked player in Texas coming out of high school.
