DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs announced Thursday the addition of Bari Kesner, a forward from Illinois, to their 2013 recruiting class. Kesner joins Taylor Barg, Kelsey Gorney, Taylor Jackson and Madison Reisdorf, who were all announced on Feb. 11.

Kesner has played all her club soccer for Eclipse Select of the ECNL under head coach Rory Dames. The forward will look to contribute immediately on the attacking third. Kesner ranked in the top 10 in scoring in the ECNL in 2010, and helped lead her squad to Illinois State Cup championships in 2008 and 2009.

"We're very excited that Bari chose SMU," Head Coach Chris Petrucelli said. "She's an outstanding athlete who has the ability to score. We were intrigued by her physical attributes immediately. She will bring some much-needed speed into our team. She has great potential that we hope to develop into real talent."

Kesner said she chose SMU for the enthusiastic coaching staff, athletic reputation, strong academics, the beauty of the SMU campus and for the warm Dallas weather.
