DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs women's soccer team will play four spring games, including two at home, beginning on March 30 at Stephen F. Austin, the program announced Tuesday. Admission and parking for all home spring games is free.
SMU will begin on the road at Stephen F. Austin on March 30 at 2 p.m. The Ladyjacks went 16-3-3 (10-1-1 Southland) and advanced to the conference championship game against Southeastern Louisiana, dropping a heartbreaker in a shootout after the match ended in a 0-0 tie.
The Mustangs will then host Texas State (April 5 at 2 p.m.) and Oklahoma State (April 12 at 1 p.m.) for their only two spring matches at Westcott Field. Texas State went 8-9-2 (4-3-4 Sun Belt), winning one game in its conference tournament. Oklahoma State went 9-7-6 (2-3-3 Big 12) in 2013, losing in the first round of the NCAA Championships to Arkansas, 2-1.
SMU will close out its spring schedule at North Texas on April 18 at 7 p.m. The Mean Green went 14-7-1 (6-3-1 Conference USA) and fell to Colorado College in the C-USA title game, 3-0.
The Mustangs are coming off a 9-9-1 season in their first campaign as a member of the American Athletic Conference. Shelby Redman and Rikki Clarke each earned second team all-conference honors, while Taylor Barg landed on the league's all-freshman team.
