SMU Match Against DePaul Cancelled Due To Rain, Lightning
Sept. 19, 2013
DALLAS (SMU) - Tonight's match between SMU and DePaul has been cancelled due to rain and lightning. Less than 30 minutes of soccer was played before the weather made a sharp turn for the worst.
The initial rain cell passed and the sky dried up long enough for the turf management crew to bring squeegees out to help clear the field. The rain wouldn't stay away for long, however, and the puddles quickly returned.
SMU will visit Connecticut on Thursday at 6 p.m. for its first-ever American Athletic Conference match. The Mustangs' next home event will be Oct. 3 against Louisville.
