SMU Season Stats Get Acrobat Reader

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's soccer team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 4-0 shutout against Colorado State Friday afternoon at Westcott Field.

Freshman defender Taylor Jackson got the Ponies rolling early with a goal at the 2:05 mark to give SMU an early 1-0 lead. Jackson's goal was assisted by Taylor Barg and Courtney Smith. Freshman Kelsey Gorney widened the Mustang lead to 2-0 when her shot-on-goal found the net at the 8:35 mark.

Sophomore midfielder Gabrielle Petrucelli made it a 3-0 first half SMU lead when the Austin, Texas native scored her first goal of the season at the 33:17 mark.

Sophomore forward Daphne de Leener widened the Mustang lead to 4-0 with her first goal of the season at the 82:09 mark. The de Leener goal was assisted by Bari Kesner and Briana Gaines.

Goalkeepers Shannon Moroney and Lauryn Bodden combined to shutout Colorado State.

The 2-1 Mustangs will next face No. 11 ranked Baylor Sunday night at Westcott Field. The match gets underway at 7:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online at
