Mustang Rowing Close Out Fall Season on a Strong Note

Gainesville, Ga. - The Mustang Rowing team concluded its fall racing season this past weekend at the Head of the Chattahoochee Regatta on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga. Strong performances came from the tandem of Whitney Tucker (senior from Montrose, Colo.) and Meg Gaab (sophomore from Pittsburgh, Pa.), who rowed to a sixth-place finish in the women?s championship double event.

Susie Thompson (senior from Bellingham, Wash.) and Jessica Schane (junior from Oklahoma City, Okla.) teamed up to finish seventh in the open pair. Freshman Julie Pollard (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) earned a silver medal after finishing second in the women?s novice single.

SMU?s varsity eight finished 10th in the championship eight event, while the varsity four placed 18th. SMU?s novice crews placed seventh in the freshman novice eight event and 17th and 27th in the collegiate/club novice four event.

The squad returns to action next spring when SMU will host Crieighton on White Rock Lake in Dallas on March 12, 2005.
