Women's Rowing

Entry 17

Hi there Mustang fans!

My name is Kelly McKinley, and I am a sophomore on the team. After just returning from a successful weekend at SIRAs in Oak Ridge, we are heading out again this Friday to the Midwest Rowing Championships in Omaha.

After narrowly losing to Tulsa last year, we are more determined than ever to take the Team trophy. We have changed our morning workouts from long, steady state pieces to shorter, anaerobic rows. This will enable us to have a better sprint, so watch out for the Mustangs with 300 meters to go!

As finals week approaches, the team plans on working incredibly hard both in the classroom and on the water. We have about two weeks to train after finals end until our final race of the year, South/Central Regional Championships. We are striving to peak that weekend and own the third 500.
