Women's Rowing

Entry 10

Hi Mustang Fans!

I'm Katelyn Verner, a freshman on the SMU Rowing Team. Wow, this semester went by fast. Living the college life and making new friends in a new city is a great experience.

For my teammates and I, finals are almost over! Now we get to go home, relax, and do nothing for a whole month. Just kidding! As SMU rowers it is important to maintain (if not increase) our fitness levels over the winter break so that we can be ready for the intensity of the spring season.

Our team is really looking forward to this spring. We were pretty strong this fall, but we are always looking to get faster, and faster, and faster, and faster, and ... (you get the picture). We know we have to work hard on our own while we are split up from each other over break; that way, when we return in the new year we will be able to bring our new strengths together to work as one in the boat. This will help us achieve our goal of Top 25.
