DALLAS (CRCA/SMU) – SMU freshman rower Savannah Moody was recently selected to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association 2014 Division I All-Central Region Second Team.

“We are very proud of Savannah,” Head Coach Doug Wright said. “To have as much of an impact on our program as she has had as a freshman is encouraging. She works so hard and leads by example with every stroke she takes. I’m excited to see her continue to improve in order to have an even greater impact next year.”

Moody, a native of Long Beach, Calif., spent the 2014 season as a member of the Mustangs’ Varsity 8+ crew. She was part of four first place finishes as well as three runner-up finishes. The crew posted its fastest time of the season with a 6:42.5 finish on April 26 against Central Oklahoma.

The central region second team is comprised of nine-student athletes and takes into account a team’s regional finish, coaches’ recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score.
