SMU Rowing Finishes Strong on Final Day of SIRA Championships

Oak Ridge, Tenn. - The SMU women's rowing team finished strong in the final day of the SIRA (Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association) Championships held at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The novice eight squad placed third in the "B" final with a time of 7:31.43, only four seconds off the mark set by first-place North Carolina. In the varsity eight race, SMU finished in sixth with a time of 7:07.52.

SMU heads north to take on host Minnesota and UCLA on Saturday, April 23, in St. Paul, Minn.
