DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU women's rowing team begins the spring competition season Saturday against Creighton at White Rock Lake in Dallas at 8 a.m. After winter workouts and a week of training during spring break, the Mustangs look to build on a strong showing at the Head of the Oklahoma in September.

SMU defeated Creighton twice in March in 2011, winning all three races against the Bluejays at the Oklahoma Invitational before taking four out of five races in Wichita, Kan. on March 28. Saturday's race schedule will begin with the Varsity 4 competition at 8 a.m. The 2nd Varsity 8 race will follow at 8:15, with the 1st Varsity 8 race to start at 8:30. The novice heat will conclude the day's events at 8:45.

Fans wishing to watch the races will have the best viewpoint at T.P. Hill off of West Lawther Dr. at White Rock Lake. The boats will leave from the boathouse at 2910 White Rock Rd. prior to the competition.
