NORMAN, Okla. (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs women's golf team is looking forward to more improvements and a solid outing at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla., this Monday through Wednesday.

"I love this Jimmie Austin golf course," Head Coach Jeanne Sutherland said. "It's a fun course to play and demands that players hit a variety of shots. We are looking forward to the competition."

The Mustangs make an effort to improve every week, and if the team continues to do so, the competition should become very aware of SMU squad. SMU has already won two of its first three tournaments in 2012, helping them move into 30th in the latest GolfWeek/Sagarin Rankings.

"The team had a good week of preparation for Oklahoma," Sutherland said. "We are working on improving around the greens and we hope that shows in fewer bogies this week. This is a strong field and we will have to play our best golf to come away with a win."

Both Melanie White and Alexandra Rossi have won individual titles this season, and White's win at the Johnie Imes Invitational has helped land her a national ranking of 45th according to GolfWeek.
