DALLAS (SMU) - SMU women's golfers are playing well this summer, with three Mustangs advancing in prestigious summer events.

Jennifer Park and Alex Rossi shot 69 and 70, respectively, at Prestonwood Country Club (Hills Course) on July 1, to advance to the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, August 4-10, at the Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y.

Lindsey McCurdy shot 75 at Firewheel at Garland (Bridges Course) in U.S. WAPL Sectional Qualifying. She will now move on to the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash., July 14-19.

SMU is coming off a great season, as the Mustangs made their second-consecutive trip to the postseason in Head Coach Jeanne Sutherland's third year on the Hilltop. Prior to last year's invite, the Mustangs had not made a regional since competing in the Central Regional in 2007. Additionally, SMU placed a strong third at the American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship, with sophomore Jenny Haglund claiming the individual championship. Haglund's individual conference title was the first for a Mustang since Barbara Blackwell won in 1992.
