DALLAS (SMU) – SMU junior golfer Jenny Haglund reached the semifinals of the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship before falling to Denmark’s Emily Pedersen on Saturday, June 28 at The Royal St. Georges Golf Club.

The Karlstad, Sweden, native led off the tournament with a 3&2 victory over Chloe Williams of Wales, and followed that with a 2&1 second-round defeat of Hayley Davis of England. A 2&1 third-round victory over Sarah Schober of Austria secured a spot for Haglund in the quarterfinals, and she advanced to the semifinals after defeating Spain’s Noemi Jimenez by a 3&2 score.

In Saturday’s semifinal, Pedersen needed an extra hole to secure the victory over Haglund and went on to meet Belgium’s Leslie Cloots in the tournament’s final.
