BRASELTON, Ga. - SMU Mustangs 2013 recruit Katie Page was given 2012 HP Scholastic Junior All-America Honors by the American Junior Golf Association for her excellence both on the golf course and in the classroom.

To be eligible for the honor, junior girls needed to have a top-five finish in an AJGA Open, and Page earned that by tying for third at the Natural Resource Partners Bluegrass Junior. Page also holds a 4.0 GPA at Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville, Ky. Players were also required to write an essay on an original topic relating to golf. Page won the essay contest.

By making the team, Page earned a spot in the Polo Golf Junior Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., which took place Nov. 17-23.

Page is the No. 55 recruit in the 2013 class according to GolfWeek. An All-State golf honoree the last two years, Page won the Kentucky Junior Amateur championship, July 2-3, 2012. Page has four top-five finishes in 2012, and helped lead Sacred Heart Academy to the state high school championship by a record 43 strokes.
