SAN ANTONIO, Texas (SMU) - Jennifer Park tallied five birdies on the back nine to finish at five-under par, tying her for first after the first round at the Alamo Invitational hosted by UTSA at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course on Sunday.

SMU finished the day second on the team leaderboard, seven shots behind Oklahoma. Felicia Espericueta was the second-best Mustang on Sunday, posting an even par round.

"We had a good day out there today," Head Coach Jeanne Sutherland said. "Jennifer Park had a great day. She had five birdies in a row on the back nine which was exciting for her. Everybody else fought hard today. I thought our back nine was great."

The Mustangs will look to continue closing in on the leaders on Monday. Fans can follow along with the action on the links with GolfStat.
