Mustangs Move To Eighth After Day Two At Susie Maxwell Berning Classic

NORMAN, Okla. (SMU) - The SMU Mustangs have moved up to eighth after the second day at the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic hosted by Oklahoma.

Maria Elena Villamil currently sits in a tie for 18th overall in the event. The junior got off to a hot start on Tuesday, three birdies on the front-nine. Melanie White made some improvements over day one, picking up three birdies on the back-nine.

Oklahoma continues to lead the event, pulling out to an 11-stroke edge over Texas Tech. The tournament is one of the more challenging events SMU will play in during the fall season, with eight of the 18 teams ranked in GolfStat's top-50.
